Them! is a 1954 American black and white science fiction film about man's encounter with a nest of gigantic irradiated ants. It is based on an original story treatment by George Worthing Yates. It was developed into a screenplay by Ted Sherdeman and Russell Hughes for Warner Bros. Pictures Inc., and was produced by David Weisbart and directed by Gordon Douglas. It starred James Whitmore, Edmund Gwenn, Joan Weldon and James Arness.

One of the first of the "nuclear monster" movies, and the first "big bug" film, Them! was nominated for an Oscar for Special Effects and won a Golden Reel Award for Best Sound Editing. The film starts off as a simple suspense story, with police investigating mysterious disappearances and unexplainable deaths. The giant ants are not even seen until almost a third of the way into the film.

The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms is a 1953 science fiction film directed by Eugène Lourié and stars Paul Christian, Paula Raymond and Cecil Kellaway with visual effects by Ray Harryhausen. The film is about an atomic bomb test in the Arctic Circle that unfreezes a hibernating fictional dinosaur, a Rhedosaurus, that begins to wreak havoc in New York City. It was one of the first monster movies that helped inspire the following generation of creature features, coining it with the atomic age.

World Without End is the title of a science fiction B-movie, released in 1956 by Allied Artists. The first science fiction thriller in CinemaScope, it starred Hugh Marlowe, Rod Taylor, Nancy Gates, Christopher Dark, and Nelson Leigh and was directed by Edward Bernds.

This film marked an early 'big-screen' performance of Rod Taylor. The Australian-born actor would soon make his mark in science fiction film history, portraying another time traveler in the George Pal production of The Time Machine.

So, how is it that a horror host would opt to feature a Bigfoot documentary, instead of a classic, below average, horror movie for his late-night movie program?

Mr. Lobo explains, "I remember "Bigfoot: Mysterious Monster" scaring me as a kid and it sat on the shows pile of 'To Do' 16mm film prints. When Ken Waller, our director, would say...'why don't we do Bigfoot', I would shake his head and say 'No, that's too serious', let's do a few others first.

"After we did another very popular episode, 'In Search Of...Ancient Astronauts', I was surprised how well the documentary worked on the show and came back to 'Bigfoot'. I put it on...and laughed myself silly. It played like 'Waiting for Guffman' or 'This is Spinal Tap'. I was inspired and wrote pages of documentary style humor with another writer named Chris Grill. We shot it in many many locations and pulled in a ton of local celebrities and actors to be in the show. It stands as one of my very favorite and most fun episodes."

Indeed, the episode is a lot of fun to watch. Lobo's take on the classic documentary is a very 'tasteful' spoof of Bigfoot and the people who have devoted their lives to searching for him....it.....them.

Mr Lobo adds, "It is a favorite episode among hardcore Cinema Insomnia fans and 'Cryptozoology/Unknown/Conspiracy' buffs. In it Mr. Lobo wraps around the 1975 documentary hosted by the late Peter Graves with some parody documentary footage of interviews with Bigfoot's prom date, Bigfoot's 5th grade teacher, Bigfoot's college roommate, Bigfoot's hair stylist, etc."

This is not the first time that episode has been released on DVD, but Mr. Lobo and his distributor, Apprehensive Films, thought that the release needed a face-lift.

"Our New distributor Apprehensive Films, who is putting out the current syndicated series in a set called the SLIME LINE, cut a new DVD version for the release...sweetening audio and video and putting them in store ready, shrink wrapped, bar coded, quality packaged, covers with a film and show synopsis on the back and "Slime Points" inside to mail in for free goodies."

In the history of grind house films one name stands out above the rest when it comes to sexploitation films,that name is Russ Meyer. Even though Japan's Self-Defense Forces sent Gamera hurtling into space in a giant rocket at the climax of Gamera: The Giant Monster, a stray meteor soon collides with his flying metal prison, freeing the ginormous turtle and allowing him to spin back to Earth. That sounds like it spells doom for Japan, but when another colossal creature named Barugon is awoken from an ancient slumber, all Hell breaks loose. And only Gamera can stop him.

After three greedy Japanese explorers steal a rare opal in New Guinea, not realizing that it is actually a monster egg, and unwittingly subject it to infrared radiation, it hatches and grows to immense size. Barugon is not simply bad because he's big: His elongated tongue, itself a deadly weapon, can emit a freezing spray, while he has the ability to shoot a deadly, laser-like rainbow from his back. And when our favorite fire-spitting Gamera becomes trapped in the creature’s frozen grip, mankind looks like it could be doomed. Can one of the explorers, Keisuke Hirata (Kojiro Hongo, Satan’s Sword), and a New Guinea native, Karen (Kyoko Enami, The Woman Gambler), help to defeat Barugon before it plunges Japan into a new Ice Age?

Gamera Vs. Barugon, the second entry in Daiei Studios’ monster series, was directed by veteran Shigeo Tanaka (The Great Wall) and is more lavish than the original in terms of scale and scope — it was shot in spectacular color! Noriaki Yuasa (Gamera, The Giant Monster) was charged with helming the visual effects for this outing, and the results are fantastic!

Bigfoot contracts rabies from a half-dead raccoon hit by a car. As the rabies progresses, so does the deterioration of his mind.
